ただいま留学中（アメリカ編④ 英語版）（英語英文学科：10/03/18）
After winter break, Aya, Ayako and I signed up for new classes for spring semester. We are taking two same classes, which are Grammar for Teachers and Writers, and College Research Writing. The professor of College Research Writing also taught our English 101 class last semester, so we felt we could learn easily. However, it is not as easy as we thought it would be, and also other classes are very hard for us to learn. The professor of Grammar for Teachers and Writers is a strict person. She usually gives us many assignments, but learning English grammar in English is so much easier than learning grammar in Japanese.
I also have two more classes: Introduction to Linguistics and Psychology of Childhood and Adolescence. Grammar for Teachers and Writers and Introduction to Linguistics are very similar, so it is good for me. Psychology of Childhood and Adolescence is difficult, because I have to remember many words that I don't know. I think I have to solve this problem.
Before the spring break, we had mid-term exams. It was so hard for us because professors gave us many assignments like essays and research papers. I spent much time at the library everyday this semester so far. I think spring semester is so much harder than last semester.
We have a spring break on March sixth through fourteenth. During the spring break, we are supposed to spend time with our friends. We went to the Chicago last weekend. Chicago is a big city, so it was fun. We took a bus tour to see many skyscrapers, and we went shopping at the Woodfield Mall. The mall was huge. It has more than 300 shops. We could not look at all shops, but we enjoyed shopping so much anyway.
In this week, we will teach some Japanese cultures to middle school students in my friends' school. We cannot wait for it!!!
