ただいま留学中！（アメリカ編②）（09/11/11）

アメリカ長期交換留学中の尾川瞳さんからの第2回目の報告が届きました。

Report on September 5～November 8

　 At the beginning of September, we (Aya, Ayako and I from Baiko Gakuin University) struggled to keep up with our classes. All of our professors seemed to be speaking fast, and we could not understand what our tutors were saying. But our tutor, Katie, is nice, and she understands our feelings and our ability of English, so she always listens to us, and she asks us, "Does it make sense?" every time. Gradually, we are getting better at keeping up with our classes now.

　On October first through 20th, we had mid-term exams which were Multicultural American Literature and English Literature. Those tests were difficult for me, because I had to read more than 10 stories for each class. We always went to the library, and we stayed up late at night every day. Our tutor also taught us about the classes. The exams were not so bad, but I wanted to get "A". I will get "A" next time!!

　 We took part in the Home Coming on October 24. The Home Coming is the event when the people go to the stadium. They drink alcohol, and people watch the American foot ball game together after they arrive at the stadium. We went to the stadium to watch the American foot ball game by car, and we did not drink the alcohol. We supported the ISU team, and they won!! Many people ran to the field and bless the players. It was so exciting!!

　 We had conferences which were for English writing class. The professor said to me "Aya, Ayako and you are at top of my class, so keep on doing!!" I was so glad to hear that. We attended the classes every time even if we had a cold or fever. We are the tough girls. (Laugh). That is why my professor praised us, I think.

　One of our tutors invited us to stay over night at her home last weekend. We went to the park where there were many trees and a river. We could see an old American village there. I thought I stepped into a good old days of America. Her family was so nice and funny, and we laughed a lot. We had a good time with her family.

Next month, we have exams again. We will do our best as much as possible.
